Barry Lippman
President and CEO
Barry Lippman founded LearningExpress, LLC in 1995. Formerly President of Macmillan Publishing, as well as President of Macmillan's General Books Division, Mr. Lippman has more than 30 years of experience in the book, education, and information industry. He has served more than half of those years in senior executive positions. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of Virtual Enterprises and the New York City Board of Education's Advisory Council for Occupational Education.
Kheil McIntyre
Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer
Kheil McIntyre is responsible for managing the company's financial and business operations, including customer service, marketing, and product implementation. He has over 22 years of media finance experience including prior roles as CFO of an internet/film distribution company and as President of his own financial consulting firm. Prior to this, he spent 11 years as Vice President of media and entertainment finance at WestLB. He began his career at Bankers Trust (now owned by Deutsche Bank).
Tammy Cunningham
Chief Technology Officer
Tammy Cunningham oversees the technology roadmap, vision and strategy for LearningExpress and manages product development, platform architecture design, and back-office IT support. Tammy has over 15 years experience in education technology where she has held CTO and senior management positions at companies such as Scholastic, Kaplan and Pearson. Tammy began her career as teacher and has also served as a district administrator. Tammy holds a M.S. in Instructional Technology, a B.S. in Biology and in Secondary Education.
Ilsa Halpern, PhD
Vice President, Online Content
Ilsa Halpern is responsible for the development of all content for both the online and book programs at LearningExpress. Major content areas include assessments, courses, tests, instructional guides, and professional development materials. Prior to joining LearningExpress, she served as Director of Content Development for Professional Examination Service, a test development, research, and education company serving the professional credentialing community. She holds a doctorate from New York University.
Tom Burnosky
Director of Sales, Library and Education Solutions
Tom Burnosky is responsible for managing the sales teams for the Library and Education channels. He has over 17 years sales management experience in digital content and publishing sales serving the Library and K-12 education markets. Tom has led sales teams consistently surpassing sales goals at major education and publishing companies such as Gale and McGraw Hill. Tom started his career as a reporter in Los Angeles.
Angela Y. Battle
Director of Book Publishing
Angela Y. Battle oversees both the editorial and sales strategies as well as the overall expansion of LearningExpress’s book program. This includes acquisitions of new titles and supporting our distribution partner network. Angela has over 11 years experience in the publishing industry. Prior to joining LearningExpress, she served in senior positions in sales, marketing and editorial at Pearson Education and John Wiley & Sons. Angela holds a BA and an MSEd, both from the University of Rochester.
Chris Atkins
Director of Marketing
Chris Atkins oversees corporate and product line marketing activities for LearningExpress. He has over 15 years experience leading marketing and product management initiatives in the online and high-tech sectors. He has been instrumental in building high-growth market segments through innovative product marketing, effective lead generation programs, and brand awareness campaigns at companies such as SchoolNet, MindSpring/EarthLink, and Equifax.
Shana Ashwood
Director of Customer Service
Shana Ashwood is the Director of Customer Service, overseeing all aspects of service, support, and production. Prior to managing the customer service group, she served as a training specialist. Before joining LearningExpress, she taught with the New York City Department of Education and worked as an advertising account executive. She has an MA in Elementary and Childhood Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and a BBA in Marketing from Temple University.
Michael Detweiler
Director of Product Implementation
Michael Detweiler oversees book and online content production, working closely with the editorial staff to meet target publication dates. In addition, he serves as the implementation manager by overseeing scheduling, training, and materials distribution for our writing improvement programs. He has over 20 years of publishing experience with companies such as RR Donnelley & Sons and John Wiley & Sons. He has a BA from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Visual Design from Lehigh University.
